The tempo and style of 'What George Washington Said' was inspired by Paul McCartney's 'Let Me Roll It'.
It is said that George Washington encouraged his men that they could chase down the Red Coats and that it was like 'A Fine Fox Chase'.when, towards the end of the Revolutionary War, the revolutionary forces had the upper hand and had the British forces on the run.
lyrics
'What George Washington Said'
You know the best things are never said.
The second best – misunderstood good.
Finally there you are and we’re communing.
We did our best to do the Word Thing.
But there’s a mystery deep in this language
For instance ‘she’ oo, the word we share our love with.
She makes me realize, I’m not this body no.
No matter what I say to her, she loves me only.
It’s a secret, if I told ya,
Would you know us, would I have sold ya?
In my theory of this language,
She’s the Spirit that we’re telepathic with.
Her soul it takes y’all, Her love is probing.
She changes dialects kinda like disrobing.
She can’t fly no, though She’s a free bird,
Even if She spread Her wings shackled in a cage of words.
You know the Phoenix that’s within us,
Turn on the lightning when She’s enchanted with us.
It’s a fine fine fox chase children.
Trying to find real meaning of the river commotion.
Don’t be jealous, She’s in every common Joe, the rabble.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Though in color, She doesn’t seem to know,
Her aura’s flashing, She’s like a light show.
What a babe! What fortitude!
What soul freight to come incarnate!
She’s the goal of the language.
She don’t seem to get it – what the heck the land is.
It’s a fine fine fox chase, Hari.
Trying to find reality digging in this river quarry.
Nix the sitting – She be in between the daily scurry.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
I tell ya lightning is the gun She chose ha,
to off the egos of thems opposed.
On a mission to light the darkness of
This Neanderthal underworld,
Bring ‘em to the world above.
No mere mortal, my baby.
Her dad’s a Gandharva king, ma’s a devotee.
We’re not the body. We’re not the bone, no.
We’re luminescent. Huh! We’re on our way home.
Well, that’s the secret. Since I told ya,
Do you know us, well, have we sold ya ?
Well, that’s the theory of this cool scene -
Life on Atlantis. What the heck does that mean ?
